 A very popular ring style for men in the early to mid 20th. century was the carved Intaglio of a Roman Warrior. An Intaglio is carved into the surface of the gemstone as opposed to raised above the surface as a Cameo would be. This Vintage 10kt yellow gold ring is set with a carved gemstone known as Sard which is a translucent medium brown in color and related to Carnelian, both of which are Chalcedony Quartz. Some minor scratches are visible on the gemstone and mounting but this ring is still in very good shape. |
